Wildfire

Pitch black that's how the room was, darkened by the curtains that covered all the light that could come in. switching the light on was pointless as they were old CFL bulbs which gave out the distressful shady light. Lisa is scared when they are on, she says that's when the bad people come.

She sits at a corner with her arms around her knees, listening to the radio across the room, her parents say she hates to leave there, tells she finds it cozy there. It wasn't like that for her, it wasn't comfort she found there, it was safety.

The reporter from the radio at Maui cries about the fatal incidents that happened from the fires in the islands.

"Wildfire has burned everything down, the city is destroyed, hundreds of lives lost and plenty are homeless, the fire has decimated everything it touched."

Lisa shrugs in as the reporter ends his sentence, she is hurt with what's said, reminds her of the point where she reached out for help, it only burned her more and that family. The man blamed her, said

"she seduced me"

"I'm not surprised", agreed her father

making her think she was the cause of all the events that occurred back then, for all the trauma his wife had had. At that corner she sits, thinking she is the fire and everything she touches burns, like Wildfire.

Lisa was a rape victim who was forced to live under the roof of her unobliged parents and her uncle's family. Many children are being used in this world, that happening even at their own homes is the worst part.

A close friend of mine asked me to write about child abuse and this is the best I could come up with. This is my final post for Blogchatter Half Marathon 2023
